FAQ

Get Started

What is the minimum screen size this would produce if placed against the wall?

If you place the Polaris 4K 6 inches away from a wall I will create a screen size of around 100 inches. This can be increased up to 200 inches by moving it a little further away.

What is the required throwing distance for a 150" screen? The projector will be placed on a coffee table not a ceiling mount.

To achieve a screen wide of 150" (diagonal), the throw distance of the Polaris 4K would be approximately 21 inches (53cm).

How big is the display size?

The 4K projector can produce a display up to 200 inches! This is about 3 times larger than conventional projectors of this size.

How is the picture quality?

It offers 4K resolution, 60 fps, HDR 10, and 107% BT.2020. In other words, the picture quality is absolutely top-notch.

Does the laser work well in brightly lit rooms?

Yes. We have tested it bright daylight and it worked well.

How's the color accuracy?

The Polaris 4K uses 3 separate primary colors (RGB), rather than using a color wheel to reflect colors from a single light. This allows for an extremely wide color gamut and virtually no color loss.

What is the input lag when playing video games?

This USL projector uses MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation), which creates smoother movements and should help cut lag down to unnoticeable levels.

Will I need some kind of screen to project onto?

It's not required. The projector can be used on any flat surface, for example the wall of a room, although for the very best performance a pure-white screen can be used.

Do I need an external audio source?

No. The Polaris 4K Projector has built-in speakers and supports DTS and Dolby for a superior sound experience. The sound can also be used on its own or play streaming apps like Spotify via Bluetooth.

Can I play my video files on the projector?

Yes. It has 32GB of storage space and supports the MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG4, ASP, and MJPEG codecs. It can read the DAT, MPEG, MPG, TS, M2V, DVD ISO, TS, TP, VOB, AVI, MP4, MOV, and 3GP containers.

Can this projector be mounted on the ceiling and inverted?

Yes. This projector can be mounted on the ceiling and the output can be inverted very easily in the options menu.

What is the life expectancy of the laser?

It can last up to 30,000 hours. This is around twice as long as conventional laser projectors, mainly due to the low power consumption (175W) compared to the 360W that is typical.
